Stack
Owned + partner media
A multi-city programme repositioning the expo as the editorial authority for luxury weddings on the continent. Owned media, partner integrations, and a curated exhibitor floor built around a single narrative spine.
The problem
The category had drifted into a trade-show format competing on stall count and ticket price. The brief was to reposition it as the editorial authority — a place luxury operators wanted to be associated with, not a venue they tolerated for the leads.
The approach
We treated the expo as a media property first and a live event second. That meant an editorial spine — a thesis about where the African luxury wedding category was moving — and every floor, partner and content asset earning its place against that thesis rather than against a stall fee.
Curation replaced the open booking model. Partner integrations replaced sponsorship line items. The exhibitor floor was redesigned as a magazine layout, not a trade hall.
Treat the expo as a media property first and a live event second.
What we built
An editorial framework covering owned content, partner placements and live programming. A curated exhibitor design system that lifted the visual baseline across the floor. A media architecture that gave premium partners a reason to integrate beyond a logo placement.
Outcome
The repositioning carried across the multi-city run. Exhibitor calibre and partner profile moved up the category; specific commercial figures remain confidential to the client.
What Label held
Editorial direction, media architecture and live experience design across the programme.
